In 2008 Salazar was selected to be a member of the Electoral College and was honored as an elector for President Barack Obama at California’s Electoral College.
Building Community Partnerships
Recently Frank Salazar’s involvement and counsel in the Imperial County and San Diego area has extended into the increasingly-bilingual community demands. His tailored community and government relations efforts for entities such as Imperial Valley College, Paradise Casinos, the Service Employees International Union and Allied Waste Services have all brought dividends.
Currently Frank serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Family Solutions—a non profit organization in the Imperial County that assists and educates victims of Domestic Violence by providing shelter, food, clothing, and advocacy since 1977. Frank also serves as one of the newest Board of Directors to the Imperial Valley Community Foundation---a group which champions philanthropy to benefit the Imperial Valley – and through the 2010 Youth Grants Committee committed $20,000 in grants to supporting youth programs in the Imperial Valley.
